On Friday, 21 March 2025, at 6 PM, a performance of Milan Adamčiak’s recently discovered aleatoric score ParkingSong will take place in the car park at Rybí Trh under the direction of musician Fero Király. This concept is a remarkable example of the author’s innovative approach to music-spatial projects and floor-plan scores, always emphasising the active participation of performers, the audience, and the role of chance within a pre-selected environment.

Adamčiak’s music-spatial projects, as he himself stated, were closely linked to the atmosphere of the intended locations for their realisation. Along with his floor-plan scores, bearing his characteristic handwriting, they function as visual blueprints awaiting their physical realisation and the people who will create and experience them. They reflect Adamčiak’s interest in the artwork as an unpredictable, ephemeral event that can provide a “personal, slowly fading experience.”

The ParkingSong performance will feature musical, sonic, and movement-based contributions from Fero Király, Marek Kundlák, Robert Kolář, Alexander Platzner, Matúš Wiedermann, and Markéta Dvořáková, along with spontaneous interventions from passing cars and pedestrians. The event is part of the exhibition project Milan Adamčiak: Sisyphean Labours at Galerie Cella in Opava, curated by Lucia Gregorová Stach and Jakub Frank. The exhibition presents a broad spectrum of Adamčiak’s work—from graphic scores, conceptual art, and experimental instruments to collaborations in interpretation, improvisational performances, and archival documents.

The work of Milan Adamčiak (1946, Ružomberok – 2017, Banská Belá) was an expression of his tireless exploration of artistic and individual freedom. His contribution remains deeply tied to the cultural and historical context of Slovakia, positioning him as a key figure within international intermedia art and neo-avant-garde movements in Central and Eastern Europe.
