FRISK The trio Frisk blends free-jazz improvisation, jazzcore intensity, and a pinch of noise with moods ranging from Ugro-Finnic folk to the call of the muezzin. In their recent work they’ve shifted toward partially composed forms, where explosive sound alternates with rhythmic structure and playfulness meets conceptual sophistication. Their second album Rengeteg (2022, 13 raw) was created with the participation of numerous guests from the Czech experimental scene. As Petr Borkovec wrote, Frisk’s music feels like a ransacked canoe rental—unsettling, chaotic, magnetic—and then suddenly a fragile song emerges that changes your perspective.

PETR VÁLEK Jeseník-based visual artist and sound explorer Petr Válek is known for his homemade electronic noisemakers and an incredible number of released recordings. He builds mechanical and electromechanical sound instruments, as well as various self-moving or kinetic objects, usually from household items and found materials. In recent years he has been recording punkishly unhinged videos in his home studio, in the garden, or out in the landscape. He also tirelessly publishes fantastical visual scenes created with the help of AI. Thanks to these activities, Petr Válek has arguably become the most widely followed contemporary Czech experimental artist worldwide.

URBAND Urband is street clatter that sucks a song into its bone-rattling machinery and grinds it down into something resembling a roar from a suspicious bar after last call. Expect Russian gangster songs, decadent waltzes, melodramatic blues, or creaking jazz. We guarantee streetwise cheek alongside café sentimentality!

MOCNÝ PUCH LESA Mocný puch lesa = a sound landscape painting, currently fluffed up by the South Bohemian horizon and dampened by the Scottish Highlands. (You may know the protagonists from earlier projects Pavel Ondračka and European Union.)

DJ DÁSEŇ A project bravely riding the wave of mockery and dissonance: it tries to cram EVERYTHING together, joyfully dismantling hierarchies and rankings—songs I love and harsh noise tracks, a few text fragments, saxophone, cassette tapes, etc., etc., etc.—and of course with the gesture of an eternally inexperienced DJ.
